Abstract
PURPOSE:To make multiplex transmission possible with a simple constitution, by connecting a optical transmitter and receiver to the optical transmission line trhough a optical branching filter. CONSTITUTION:The photosignal transmitted from optical transmitter 11 has only short-wave length components incident to optical transmission line 41 by optical branching filter 31. After propagated through optical transmission line 41, the photo signal is totally reflected by optical branching filter 32 and is input to photoreceiver 22. The photosignal transmitted from optical transmitter 12 has only long-wave length components incident to optical transmission line 41 by optical branching filter 32. The signal transmitted through transmission line 41 is reflected by optical branching filter 31 and is input to photoreceiver 21. The photosignals reflected by optical transmission line 41 are not connected to receivers 21 and 22 due to action of optical branching filters 31 and 32.
