Abstract

PURPOSE:To stop all the combustion with the help of oxygen division pressure sensor provided, when the oxygen volume has reduced beyond the level required for full flame combustion due to the reduction of oxygen concentration in the air or the decrease in air volume required for combustion. CONSTITUTION:The imperfect combustion sensors 8-11 are composed of sintered ceramic body of transition metal oxide such as titania and a pair of electrodes separated from each other. It is so designed that the inter-electrode resistance value may change in response to the fluctuasion of air/fuel mixture ratio detected based on oxygen division pressure in a gas detected at high temperatures of 600-900 deg.C. For instance, when the room air is contaminated by combustion, discharge gas and the oxygen concentration of air is low, it is possible to detect imperfect cmbustion, as far as the cut-off point for the resistance of the sensors 8-11 is set at any prearranged value (e.g. a few KOMEGA to a few hundred OMEGA). This principle applies to the case when the air volume to a burner, etc. is short.
