Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of discontinuity equivalent to the density of sub-scanning lines by performing printing sequentially from one end of a block belonging to each group of heating-resistors divided into groups in plural in the scanning direction, while printing being made in the reverse direction for groups adjacent to each other. CONSTITUTION:All the lines of heating-resistors for thermal printing are divided into 20 blocks composed of a series of 16-dot heating-resistors, while the entire 20 blocks being divided into 4 groups, and 4 blocks in total from each group are printed simultaneously at one timing of simultaneous printing. As for a printing scanning method, a method wherein blocks 1, 10, 11 and 20 are printed at the 1st timing, while blocks 2, 9, 12 and 19 being printed at the 2nd timing, is used, and 1 line is printed at five timings. Based on picture signals corresponding to a straight line (a) in the direction of main scanning, the recording of the heating-resistors is formed to be almost continuous at G1', G2' and G3' and, by performing usual subscanning, a record (b) appears to be a straight line visually.
