Abstract

PURPOSE: To correct the charging potential and current quantity of a corona discharger according to using atmosphere temperatures, and make chargeability better and copying performance higher by providing the thermally deforming members which thermally deform according to the change in the atmospheric temperature of a photosensitive surface to the corona electrode.
CONSTITUTION: When the atmospheric temperature of the photosensitive surface becomes high owing to the generation of heat in each constituting apparatus etc. during copying, the bimetals 18, 18 provided to a charger 4 thermally deform upward with the fixed parts as a fulcrum and move a corona wire 16 in the charge release direction and this reduces the distance between the corona wire 16 and the photosensitive surface and increases charge receptive potential quantity by 100V, from for exmaple, 500V, whereby it may be made to 600V being a permissible potential quantity. In this way, the charge potential quantity of the charger 4 may be corrected always to a permissible potential quantity, thus the chargeability of the charger 4 may be improved, hence the copying performance may be improved.
