Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an equipment that allows continuous disulfurization, causes no pulverization of active carbon, nor clogging with active carbon dust, nor dust explosion by a method wherein plural units filled with active carbon are detachably mounted to a free-to rotate cylindrical cage.
CONSTITUTION: SOx-containing gas is guided from an inlet duct 9 and SOx is removed by an active carbon layer positioned at the adsorption section a out of the active carbon units installed at the periphery of a vertical cylindrical cage 6, so that the screen gas is discharged from outlet duct 10. The SOx-adsorbed active carbon is sent to the desorption section b, by the rotation of a rotary device installed at the lower part of the cage 6. High-temperature gas is sent from a nozzle 16 to desorb the active carbon to provide high-concentration SOx-containing gas, which is sent via outlet 17 to a sulfur-recovery unit. The active carbon is sent to the cooling section c, where a low-temperature inert gas from a nozzle 29 is used for colling. The active carbon whose adsorbing power is dropped is sent to a unit-exchange section d, and removed from a cage 6 together with the unit, using a tower-attached truck, etc., and replaced with a new unit.
