Abstract
PURPOSE: To lower the hydrogen overvoltage, by electroplating the cathode substrate made of titanium or titanium alloy in plating bath added polyamine and one kind or more of ions of nickel, cobalt, iron and moreover, added molybdic acid ion.
CONSTITUTION: Nickel ion, cobalt ion and ferrous ion used for plating bath, are preferably used as sulfate or chloride, in case of using individually or in combination with each ion. Adding amount is 0.5W1.5mol/l ion concentration. Sodium molybdate, etc. are used as molybdic acid ion and adding amount is 0W0.007mol/l ion concentration. Water soluble amine, such as polyoxyethylenelauryl amine, is added to said salts, but the adding amount is not limited. pH of said plating bath is regulated in 2W7 and at least one face of the cathode substrate of titanium or titanium alloy, is electroplated. On this occasion, it is preferable to continuously blowing in nitrogen gas in said bath and stirring it.
