Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the consumption of coke, one component of raw material for sintering, without obstructing the air permeability of raw material layer in Dwight- Lloyd sintering machine, by scattering sprayed waste oil etc. on the raw material layer in and after the ignition furnace, and by blowing hot air to the raw material layer.
CONSTITUTION: Waste oil formed in plant is stored in a waste oil tank 11, then it is sent pressurized by a pump 13 to a spraying machine 15 arranged just after an ignition furnace 8, and it is sprayed and scattered on the layer of sintering raw material placed on pallets 9. Hot air at 200W350°C temp. is blown on the raw material layer from hoods 24 for blowing hot air arranged on the downstream side from the spraying machine 15. The scattered waste oil is vaporized and is sucked by wind boxes 10 set under the pallets 9, hereby high temp. waste oil gas formed by vaporization passes through the raw material layer, and burns in the next combustion zone together with coke contained in the sintering raw material so as to sinter the sintering raw material. Air from cooler wind boxes 31 is heated while passing through high temp. layer of sintering ore and is collected by hot air hoods 32, then it is sent to the hoods 24, where it is used as the hot air.
