Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a heat-resisting ferrite steel which comprises C, Si, Mn, Cr and especially Ce at a prescribed ratio and the rest of Fe and unavoidable impurities and does not crack under heavy heat load.
CONSTITUTION: A heat-resisting ferrite steel is composed of 0.010W0.50wt% of C, 0.5W3.0wt% of Si, 0.2W1.0wt% of Mn, 18W26wt% of Cr, 0.10W0.50wt% of Ce and the rest of Fe and unavoidable impurities. If the Ce content exceeds 0.05%, the resistance of the steel against thermal deformation falls and its crack resistance is not improve. If the Ce content is lower than 0.01%, the oxidation resistance of the steel is not improved enough. If at least one of Ni, Nb and Mo is added at a prescribed ratio to the steel, its thermal deformation resistance is enhanced further.
