Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the response characteristic of a detection element through a simple construction, by making the temperature of air to be blown into water, not lower than that of the water and by conducting out collected air containing gas, along the outside of a blowing pipe to raise the temperature of the air to a prescribed level.
CONSTITUTION: The flow rate in a dissolution water passage 2 of to-be-examined water 1, in which an in-flammable substance is dissolved, is fixed. The water 1 is introduced into a bubble breaking chamber 3. Clean air 4 of temperature not lower than that of the water 1 is blown at an appropriate flow rate into the water through a blowing pipe 5. The blown air 4 passes through a porous member on the tip of the pipe 5 and rises as bubbles 7 in the water and is broken is the chamber 3. Gas 8 to be detected passes through a cover plate 9 along the outside of the blowing pipe 5 and goes into a detection chamber 10. The gas is then passed through a gas detector 11 and is discharged through an exhaust port 12. Since the gas which comes into contact with the detector 11 and is detected thereby is maintained at constant temperature and humidity by the steam pipe effect of the blowing pipe 5, the response characteristic of the detector can be inproved through a simple construction.
