Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture the thin plate having high wear resistance by positively introducing oxide thereto by employing an atomizing process easily oxidizing it and adding oxidizable element thereto and increasing the bonding force of powder particles owing to sintering by reducing atomized powder. CONSTITUTION:When preparing stock powder containing Fe-Ni group magnetic alloy composition having as a whole one or more elements selected from the group consisting of Al, Ti, Mg, Ca, Ce and Be components as the entire powder, molten alloy is molten by vacuum melting process, and is then pulverized by a water atomizing process in a mixture of air and argon gas. The powder is reduced in hydrogen stream at predetermined temperature for predetermined time, is then inserted into a rubber container, and is pressure molded under predetermined pressure by a hydrostatic compression. Further, dust powder thus molded is sintered for predetermined time to increase the bonding strength between the particles of the powder to prevent the particles from falling, and the thin plate for magnetic head core having high wear resistance is manufactured.
