CONSTITUTION:The titled resin for an artificial tooth comprising an unsaturated carbonate of the formula (R is saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon residue; R' is unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon residue; n is a positive number 1-3) or its mixture with a methacrylate polymer. The improved hardness, compressive strength and a abrasion resistance of the resin prevent the abrasion of the tooth by a toothbrush, and the good moisture absorption resistance thereof prevents the permeation of stains. Diethylene glycol bis(allyl carbonate) may be cited as the compound of the formula. The resin in the form of powder is used by kneading with a paste or liquid monomer, e.g. methyl methacrylate.
