Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a sharp 2-color image free from ground stain in a photoreceptor for 2-color copying having 2 photoconductive layers different from each other in spectral characteristics, by forming the second photoconductive layer as a specified laminate type.
CONSTITUTION: First photoconductive layer 2 sensitive to color light A transmitted by second photoconductive layer 3, and layer 3 sensitive to color light B and transmitting color light A are provided on conductive substrate 1 to form a photoreceptor. Layer 3 is formed by laminating charge generating layer 31, charge transfer layer 32, and charge generating layer 33. Said photoreceptor is subjected to positive or negative primary corona charging, followed by negative or positive secondary corona charging in order to allow layers 2, 3 to retain charges different from each other in polarity, and then the photoreceptor is exposed to the light image of an original of 2-color consisting of black and color A, thus permitting 2 latent images different from each other in polarity to be formed on each part of the photoreceptor correspondig to each color, and a 2-color image to be formed by developing each latent imge with black and color A toners charged to polarities reverse to the latent images.
