Abstract

PURPOSE: Titled foam stabilizer which can provide polyurethane foams having improved low-temperature storage stability and being applicable to refrigerators etc., containing a specific organopolysiloxane as the base agent.
CONSTITUTION: The foam stabilizer for producing polyurethane foams is prepared by using as the base agent, an organopolysiloxane represented by average composition formula I, wherein R is a monovalent hydrocarbyl group, G is a group of formula II, in which m is 2W5 and n is 1W3 and a and b are each in the range; 1≤ a<3, 0<b<1, provided that a+b is in the range; 1≤a+b≤3. The organopolysiloxane represented by average composition formula I is easily prepared, for example, by reacting an organohydrohenpolysiloxane with a glycidyl ether in the presence of a solvent, a buffer and platinum or a platinum compound. The amount of the organopolysiloxane is preferable in the range of 0.1W5%, based on polyurethane.
