Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration of the grinding efficiency of a spongy synthetic resin grinding stone due to frictional heat by formulating a particle mixture of grinding particles and mica particles into spongy form with a binder.
CONSTITUTION: Mica particles and grinding particles are mixed in a proper ratio, and a spongy soft grinding stone is formed with use of a binder. The mica particles are of a structure that planar net-work silicate structures are laminated by ionic bonds. It is thus resistant to heat, low in both thermal and electric conductivities, low in heat capacity due to friction, and low in expansion and contraction due to temperature differences.
