Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce a noise and NOx, by providing an air passage with a contracted part and an expanded part, connecting the contracted part to an exhaust gas passage and providing the expanded part with a resonance box which communicates with the exhaust gas passage.
CONSTITUTION: A spiral air passage 5 is defined by an outer cylinder 2, an inner cylinder 3 and partition plates 4. A pipe 6 vertically laid in the center of a recuperator 1 is connected to the upper part of the passage 5. The pipe 6 has a contracted part 6a and an expanded part 6b. The contracted part 6a is provided with a through hole 6d so that the contracted part communicates with an exhaust gas passage 9. The expanded part 6b is provided with a cylindrical resonance box 13 which communicates with the exhaust gas passage 9 through a connection pipe 12. The exhaust gas passage 9 is defined between the inner cylinder 3 and the pipe 6 and provided with an expanded part 9a and a contracted part 9b which correspond to those 6a, 6b of the air passage. According to this constitution, combustion exhaust gas is recirculated, NOx is decreased and a noise is eliminated by the resonance box and the diameter change of the passage.
