Abstract
PURPOSE: To utilize the effect of eddy current and increase a suppressing effect of vibration for a device, by providing the vibration suppressing device of eddy current type at one end or in the vicinity of a damper shaft.
CONSTITUTION: In a casing 2 between an inlet port 1 and outlet port 3 of exhaust gas, an adiabatic layer 4 and acoustic absorptive layer 5 are equipped and three kinds of baffle plates 10, 11, 13 are fixed to or slidably mounted on a damper shaft 9. To the damper shaft 9 protruding to the outside from the casing 2, conductive substances 21, 22 made of copper plate are mounted through a terminal end member 14, arms 15 and supporting rods 17, 18, while is supporting protrusions 25, 26 and supporting members 23, 24 protruding from the exhaust port unit 3, ferromagnetic materials 19, 19' (20, 20' not shown) which hold the conductive substances 21, 22 are provided, and a relative movement between the both can be suppressed by an electromagnetically operated eddy current damper to absorb a pulsating motion or noise energy.
