Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to vary the beam diameter of diffracted light by selectively varying the beam diameter of reproduced illumination light in accordance with the thickness of a desired picture element formed with the diffracted light.
CONSTITUTION: Aperture mechanism 19 reduces in area to adjust the beam diameter of reproduced illumination light 4 in accordance with purposes. Accordingly, the beam diameter of diffracted light 5 on scanning surface A-A is varied. Thus, a so-called holoscanner laser plotter can be realized which provides picture-element (line) density that corresponds to required quality.
