Abstract
PURPOSE:To continuously form an endless plate of good smoothness and even thickness by solidifying molten metal on the surface of a totary drum and giving vibration to the molten metal at the time of peeling the same from the frum. CONSTITUTION:An inert gas is flowed through a lead-in port 6 onto the surface of the molten metal 1 in which molten metal 2 of lead and lead alloy is contained. The molten metal is then replenished through a pipe 5. Next, the vessel 1 is raised by a handle 7 to dip the rotary drum 3 which is being cooled by water into the molten metal 2. Then, the molten metal 2 contacts the surface of the rotating drum 3 and an endlesss plate 8 having 8 cooled and solidified is peeled from the drum 3 by a peeling plate 9. At this time, random vibrations having prevailing vibrations of >=100HZ are given to the molten metal 2 by a vibrator 4. Then, the endless plate 9 of 1-3mm thickness having stripe-form linear ridges which are fine longitudinally in a width direction is obtained.
