Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the integration degree of the ink jet nozzle and to ease the cleaning of the jet nozzle by providing a slit-shaped space for the ink jet nozzle in an electrostatic acceleration system ink jet recording device. CONSTITUTION:High voltage is applied to one or plural electrodes 4 that are densely arranged behind the recording paper 3. Since the ink 2 in the slit-shaped space 1 is at the ground potential, the ink 2 near the electrode to which the high voltage is applied is injected as a drop from the slit 1, and is attached to the recording paper 3 to form a picture element. Also when the ink jet nozzle is stopped up with dried ink and dust or the like, a needle the thickness of which is thinner than the width of the slit can be inserted into the slit to clean it.
