Abstract

PURPOSE: To optimize the dosage of an oxidizer by continuously measuring the cyan content in the washing water for the gas produced in an electric furnace with a measuring tank provided with an ion electrode sensor, and dosing a cyan oxidizer into the washing water in correspondence to this.
CONSTITUTION: The supernatant of the washing water for electric furnace gas is extracted continuously from the upper part of a thickener 7 by a siphon 11, and is used as sample. The sample is introduced into a cyan measuring tank 13 by controlling the flow rate of the sample with a valve 12, and the cyan amount in the sample is continuously measured by using an electrode sensor 14. This measured value of cyan is converted to an electric signal by a measuring device 16, is introduced to a controller 18, and is applied as a control signal to a variable discharge pump controller 21, which controls the discharge of a pump 22, thereby dosing the oxidizer of the amount corresponding to said measured cyan amount from a cyan treating oxidizer tank 23 into a waterway 3.
