Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a low-cost absorbent as an absorbent of oxygen from two- component gas of oxygen and nitrogen by dissolving iron in pure Na-A type zeolite and replacing Na with K.
CONSTITUTION: Bivalent or higher valent Fe is brought into contact in wet condition with practically pure Na-A type zeolite and heat-treated to dissolve Fe in the crystal of zeolite. Then, a part of the Na-A type zeolite is replaced with K. The Na- K-A type zeolite dissolving Fe formed by the above procedure is raised in oxygen selectivity and increased in oxygen absorption in O2-component system. Consequently, oxygen can be produced at low cost from two-component mixed gas of oxygen and nitrogen.
