Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform heat treatment for materials having wide size distribution continuously and uniformly by feeding the materials of wide size distribution to the uppermost part of a fluidized bed tower having a high empty tower speed of high temperature gas and by causing the particles which are incapable of fluidizing to fall to the lower stage. CONSTITUTION:In heat-treating materials of wide size distribution such as coal, limestone, etc. by a fluidized-bed system, the materials are fed to a fluidized-bed part F1 having D1 tower diameter of the uppermost stage from a feed line 1. By this way, only coal having grain size in accordance with to the empty tower speed of high-temperature gas is fluidized, and after staying for a fixed time, discharged from a discharge line 12. The coal larger in grain size falls on a gas distribution board 7 without being fluidized and further falls to fluidized-bed zones F2, F3. Thus, the materials of respective grain sizes stay for corresponding time to make contact with high temperature gas, and consequently, sufficient heat treatment is attained.
