Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of a booster and reduce its weight by fitting metal members to fix a master cylinder and a booster to face to each other for partly covering a shell made of synthetic resin.
CONSTITUTION: A bowl-shaped front reinforcing member 3 and rear reinforcing member 4 made of steel plates are fixed to face to each other to cover respectively the outsides of a front shell 5 and a rear shell 6 made of synthetic resin, as a catch 8 provided in the circumferential part of the rear reinforcing member 4 is caught by a notch 7 provided in the circumferential part of the front reinforcing member 3. A master cylinder 102 is fixed by a screw 10 fast fixed on the front reinforcing member 3, and a booster is fixed to a car body frame by a screw 9 fast fixed on the rear reinforcing member 4. In this construction, the support strength of the master cylinder 102 and the booster 100 themselves against vibrations and shocks and the necessary strength to transmit the operational force of a brake are mainly borne by above- said reinforcing members 3 and 4.
