Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve transmission efficiency by transmitting various control signals via a single transmission line by composing the transmission line for a control system of optical fibers and by specifying the formats of transmitted signals on the transmission line.
CONSTITUTION: Parallel input information consisting of N bits is converted into series output information by a parallel-series converting register 12, transmission control part 13, etc., and it is transmitted from a transmission part 10 via a single transmission line 20 of optical fibers. The N-bit series input information from the transmission line 20 is received by a reception part 30 consisting of a series-parallel converting register 34, reception control part 33, etc., and then converted into N-bit parallel information. As for the format of the transmitted signal on the transmission line 20, a one-frame, N-bit transmission section and a stop section with prescribed time length alternate. Further, a start code inverse of that of the stop section and a stop code are added at the head and tail of one frame respectively, and n(<N) data codes and a parity code are inserted between the two. Then, various pieces of information are transmitted via the single transmission line 20, thereby improving transmission efficiency.
