PURPOSE:To enable even personnal under training to use Kanji input easily, by commonly using an associative system and a display selection system. CONSTITUTION:When a mode selection code is inputted from a keyboard 1, a decoder 3 sets either an associative input mode or a display selection mode to a mode selection circuit 2. Next, when data are inputted from the keyboard 1, the decoder 3 identifies the data, indexes either an associative table 4 or a display selection table 5 under a set mode, and the content of the table is displayed on a display 7 through a video circuit 6. On a displayed screen of the display selection mode, for characters to be selected, the key word for associative input is displayed in Kana(Japanese syllabary) and different characters but same pronounciation are displayed additionally in number. Thus, even if the associative keys are forgotton to be depressed, they can be displayed on the screen by inputting the number of desired characters by the operator and the associative input can be stuidied at the same time as the input.
