Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a test print possible, by selecting various printing patterns if necessary without providing a special switch for selection of printing patterns at the test print time. CONSTITUTION:A test switch 20 is self-reset to the neutral position normally, and when a start switch is turned on, the low level ''0'' is inputted to a printing control circuit 28 as a printing start signal to start printing of the test print; and when a stop switch is turned on, the low level ''0'' is inputted to the control circuit 28 as a printing stop signal to stop printing of the test print. A printing pattern is selected by the number of times or the time of turning-on of the stop switch. Therefore, a test mode counter 25 storing the number of pulses generated at every number of times or the prescribed time of turning-on of the stop switch, a pattern generator 26 which generates printing pattern data corresponding to the count output, and a buffer memory 27 where the output data is stored temporarily are provided.
