Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the S/N due to a quantizing noise during a small signal, by providing a multi-bit A/D and D/A converters having the bits more than the transmitting bits and then varying the range of using bits by the level of an aural signal. CONSTITUTION:An analog aural signal supplied from AIN is converted into a binary code of 9 bits through an A/D converter A/D. When an input signal is large and a bit or more in the upper 3 bits of the binary code are 1, the input of a multiplexer MPX is 1 to select the inputs 11-17. Otherwise the inputs 01-07 are selected. Accordingly the upper 6 bits among the 9 bits of the A/D output emerge to the output codes P1-P6 during an input of a large signal; while the lower 6 bits emerge during an input of a small signal. At the same time, a signal equal to the input G of the MPX is delivered to the control signal bit PC. When these signals are received, a D/A conversion is carried out in a contrary sequence.
