PURPOSE:To realize a compact device with simple constitution and by reducing the cost by rotating a supply roller for a developing solution in the same direction as the rotating direction of a photoreceptor and by rotating a restricting roller in the opposite direction. CONSTITUTION:Developer tank 2 containing developing solution D is provided with supply roller 3 and restricting roller 4 and between them and photoreceptor 1, gaps 13 and 14 are formed. Rollers 3 and 4 are rotated as shown by arrows B and C; and gap 13 is set to 1-3m/m, and gap 14 to 0.05-0.08m/m. In this constitution, developing solution D is carried into pool 5 by sticking to roller 3 and toner sticks to the latent image part of the photoreceptor. Further, roller 4 scrapes part of the sticking toner and at a transfer position, solution D is provided to a minimum necessary amount. Thus, there is no need to provide means of drawing up and stirring solution D, and the compact device with the simple constitution is realized to reduce the cost.
