Abstract

PURPOSE:To assure the tension control, by setting the specified tape tension in response to each operation mode, while keeping constant the relative position between the tension arm and the detecting element detecting the displacement of the tension arm. CONSTITUTION:The tension arm 11 is provided with the tape guide 13 the tip of which is wound with the magnetic tape 12, and it is fitted in rotation free via the support shaft 14. The shaft 14 is provided with a magnet 15, where the torque generating means providing the drive coil 16 is opposingly provided. Further, the detecting means to detect the displacement of the tension arm 11 is provided at the back end of the tension arm 11. Further, at the both sides of the tension arm 11, the stoppers 20, 21 are provided which are regulating the torsional angle theta being the displacement in rotation accompanied with the change in the magnetic tape 12 in running.
