In this case, the operating current of the transistor TR is changed according to the output of the circuit 1, and the erasing current decreases at the fade-in operation and increases at the fade-out operation gradually. Further, the rate of increase/decrease of the erasing current is changed by the switching of SW3 according to the types of tape so that the slope of the fade effect given to the tape can be constant independently of the types of tapes.
