Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of transfer and fixing performances, and that of function due to stains, and to extend the useful life of an intermediate transfer medium, by coating a tack adjuvant on said medium for retransferring an image to a copying paper. CONSTITUTION:Tacky belt 6 as an intermediate medium is passed through tack adjuvant 11 in vessel 10 after retransfer. Scraping blade 14 is attached to belt 6. Tacky belt 6 is stuck to photoreceptor 1 to receive a toner image. This image is retransferred and fixed to copying paper 13 by pressing belt 6 and paper 13 between heating roller 9 and pressing roller 12. After the retransfer, belt 6 is dipped in adjuvant 11, and an excess of adjuvant 11 and the residual toner are scraped down with blade 14, thus permitting transfer and fixing performances not to deteriorate even if the stickiness of belt 6 and its releasing property deteriorate, stains to be prevented, and the useful life of belt 6 to be extended.
