Abstract

PURPOSE:To check the starting current by increasing the starting impedance with series connection of the 3-phase windings of a plurality of motors. CONSTITUTION:Before the starting of the 3-phase induction motors 7 and 8, the switches 9A-9C are opened, the switches 10A and 10B are also opened, while the switches 11A and 11B are closed and the switches 12A-12C are opened. Then, as soos as the switches 9A-9C are closed, two 3-phase induction motors 7 and 8 start with the pulse windings connected in series. After the end of the starting, the switches 10A and 10B are closed. Then, the switches 11A and 11B are opened and the switches 12A-12C are closed. By said procedure, each 3-phase induction motor is put into the rated operation. Thus, the motor is started with the phase windings of the motors connected in series one to another thereby reducing the starting current due to a greater starting impedance.
