Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect a ghost which is not influenced by noise and simplify the constitution of a ghost detection device, by providing the first comparator for detecting a ghost whose polarity is positive and the second comparator for detecting a signal whose polarity is negative. CONSTITUTION:A video signal from the input terminal 1 is input to the compounding device 2, and in this compounding device 2 is input a ghost having the reverse polarity against the ghost contained in the original video signal from the transversal filter A1, and it erases the original ghost and is output from the video output terminal 3. This output is provided to the variable delaying circuit 4 and the ghost processing circuit A2. On this circuit A2 are provided the comparator 12 which detects a ghost having the positive polarity at a larger threshold level than a noise level, and the comparator 13 which detects a signal having the negative polarity at a larger threshold level than a noise level. And, the outputs of both the comparators 12, 13 are stored in the counters 14, 15 from the leading edge of the vertical synchronizing signal for a prescribed time, and a ghost which is not influenced by a noise is detected by the outputs of the counters 14, 15.
