Abstract
PURPOSE: A recording solution for ink jetting having improved dispersion stability of pigment, obtained by dispersing pigment into an aqueous medium containing a polymer consisting of both a hydrophilic structural part and a hydrophobic structural part as a dispersant in such a way that the particle diameter of the pigment and the molecular weight of the polymer satisfy a specific relationship.
CONSTITUTION: Preferably 3W30wt% pigment is dispersed into an aqueous medium containing a polymer (e.g., a salt of copolymer consisting of sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate and styrene, etc., having a molecular weight 5,000W100,000) consisting of both a hydrophilic structural part and hydrophobic structural part as a dispersant in such a way that the average particle diameter of the pigment Dμ and the average-molecular weight of the polymer W satisfy the relationship shown by the formula W≥D×2×104, and the blend is ground and adjusted to a viscosity preferably 3W10cps, to give the desired recording solution.
EFFECT: Satisfying simultaneously emerging stability, long-term shelf stability in low- viscosity region, grabbing properties, concentration of printed image, clarity, water resistance, and light resistance, having low smell and improved safety, etc.
