Abstract
PURPOSE:To permit observation without giving any influence upon the flow field around the body to be towed by mounting a side channel of a U shape in section having an underwater see-through window on the inside surface of the side wall of a ship type test water tank. CONSTITUTION:A side channel 4 of a U shape in section of which both ends are respectively closed by watertight walls is mounted to one side wall 10' of a ship type test water tank T. A watertight window 5 for underwater see-through observation is provided on one surface on the channel 4. A telecamera 6 mounted to a towing carriage 3 is made freely movable in the channel 4 cooperatively with the body 1 to be towed. Hence, the flow field around the body 1 can be observed with the telecamera 6 without receiving any external influence at all. This observing means is easily mounted to the test water tank having no observation window.
