Abstract
PURPOSE:To position the head easily and surely without a complicated detector, by detecting servo information, where the magnetization intensity is changed to a sine wave or a triangular wave for every track in the radius direction, by the magnetoresistance head. CONSTITUTION:Servo information where the magnetization intensity is changed to a sine wave or a triangular wave for every track is recorded on servo face 2 of magnetic disc 1 in the radius direction. This information which is not discrete but continuous is detected easily and surely by magnetoresistance head 4 for servo utilizing the magnetoresistance effect, and driving device 10 is servocontrolled by the head position signal and the speed signal resulting from position detector 9 and speed detector 11, and the head is positioned easily and surely by the constitution where a complicated detector is not required, and thus, the recording density is improved.
