Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform uniform charging with low applied voltage by containing liquid which lowers electric resistance in a rubbing member of a charger with an object to be charged to the extent of not wetting the object to be charged. CONSTITUTION:The fabric part 6 (fiber member on the surface in the case of a conductive roller) of the rubbing member 7 provided to the tip of a charger 3 is impregnated with liquid which lowers electric resistance (the liquid prepd. by dissolving liquid or ionic solid which lowers electric resistance in liquid of insulation characteristic, for example, the liquid prepd. by dissolving iodine or benzyl alcohol in, for example, low-molecular silicone oil) to the extent of not wetting the surface 2 to be charged. As a result, said surface is charged under low voltage and there is no occurrence of ozone or the like.
