Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent a breakaway of a solid electrolyte from a substrate and cracking of the solid electrolyte with excellent heat resistance and shock resistance by using Al2O3 for a detector substrate and by baking ZrO2, containing either of Y2O3 and Er2O3 as a stabilizer in the solid electrolyte, within a specific temperature range.
CONSTITUTION: Al2O3 substrate 1 is provided with reference side electrode 2 and on substrate 1 and electrode 2, oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte 3 is formed. Paste, obtained by mixing ZrO2 having 4.0W7.0mol% Y2O3 or Er2O3 as a stabilizer in electrolyte 3 with an organic vehicle (a solution of ethyl cellulose and terpineol) is screen-printed and baked at 1,350W1,550°C. Next, measurement side electrode 4 is formed on electrolyte 3 to obtain a detector. Using the stabilizer as much as mentioned above prevents the electrolyte from cracking due to a temperature change in the baking of electrolyte 3 or in use and also prevents crackings due to a large thermal expansion difference from substrate 1, so that the detector of excellent durability is obtained.
