Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the heat-sensitive recording material, the color of which will never be extinguished even when a film is contacted with printed section, by a method wherein a coating layer containing dialdehyde starch as a binding agent is provided on a heat-sensitive color developing layer. CONSTITUTION:A leuco substance of triphenylmethane series, fluorane series or the like having no color or somewhat light color, alpha-naphthol, 4-t-butylphenol, benzoic acid or the like as an acidic substance to develop color by causing a thermal color developing reaction with said leuco substance, and a binding agent such as polyvinyl alcohol are mixed together to make heat-sensitive color-developing coating liquid, and said liquid is coated on the heat-sensitive color developing layer and is dried. The dialdehyde starch is further coated on the heat-sensitive color-developing layer either alone or dispersed in water together with polyvinyl alcohol or the like as the coating layer coating liquid and is dried, whereby a holding layer holding a distinct record may be formed.
