Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the catalyst with high activity supported on the inexpensive carrier with excellent carrying capacity by a method wherein a paper like material obtained by subjecting a beaten heat resistant fiber to a paper making process is used as the carrier and a catalyst substance is coated on said carrier.
CONSTITUTION: The beaten heat resistance fiber such as an inorg. fiber such as a glass fiber and the like or an org. fiber such as a Tefron fiber and the like is subjected to the paper making process to prepare a flat plate or a paper and, thereafter, said flat plate or said paper is used as the carrier after molded or without molding. Then, the said carrier is coated with a catalyst substance or a catalyst precursor substance to prepare the catalyst. Thus obtained catalyst is inexpensive, excellent in the carrying capacity as well as can be molded into various shapes.
