Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize a quality combustible gas as auxiliary heat source for a gasifying melting furnace by using an overheated steam generated from combustion of a gas produced in the furnace.
CONSTITUTION: An industrial waste is dumped into a constant quantity feeder 2 with a crane 1, and is continuously fed into a gasifying furnace 3 by a constant quantity. The solid waste is thermally decomposed with an overheated steam in the furnace through a partial combustion by oxygen. Carbon reacts the overheated steam in the furnace to generate a quality combustible gas, which is purified with a gas purifier 5 and stored in a gas holder 6. The gas thus stored is supplied to the bottom of the furnace 7 as auxiliary heat source therefor and burned. The excessive gas is utilized as fuel gas.
