Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a decorative board which shows the same degree of a gloss as natural wood and has external appearance similar to the natural wood by a method wherein a large number of streaks are formed in parallel on the back of a transparent or semitransparent sheet, on the surface thereof grain patterns are printed, and the sheet is pasted on a substrate.
CONSTITUTION: The desired grain patterns are printed on the surface 2 of a transparent or semitransparent sheet 1, principal materials thereof are synthetic resin such as PVC and PE or which is obtained by mixing said synthetic resin into paper, while a large number of minute streaks 4 are made up in parallel on the back 3 of the sheet 1. The parallel direction of the streaks 4 at that time is previously made the same as the temporary fiber direction of grain patterns printed on the surface of the sheet 1. The sheet 1 is pasted on a substrate 6 such as a chip board and plywood previously coated with adhesives 5 such as phenol resin adhesives and rubber latex resin adhesives, and a decorative board 7 is obtained. Paints consisting of aminoalkyd resin, urethane resin, etc. may be applied on the surface of the decorative board 7 as necessary for beauty and the protection of the surface.
