Abstract
PURPOSE: A resin containing a maleimide is combined with red phosphorus to give a resin composition that has heat resistant as well as flame retardancy, high adhesion to copper plated layers and good moldability, thus suitably being used as copper-lined laminates made from a polyimide resin.
CONSTITUTION: A resin made from a maleimide compound containing 1 or more maleimide groups per molecule or its resin composition is combined with 0.1W 5wt%, based on the solid resin, of red phosphorus, preferably fine particle red phosphorus with surfaces coated with a resin or alumina and particle sizes of less than 70 microns.
