Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a uniform-quality alloyed galvanized steel sheet for a coating substrate having superior corrosion resistance after electrodeposition coating by using a molten Zn bath contg. a very small amount of Al to galvanize the surface of a steel sheet, further galvanizing the sheet, and heating it at a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:A steel sheet is galvanized using a molten Zn bath contg. 0.08- 0.14% Al. Since the bath contains Al having high reducing power, little dross is generated. On the galvanized sheet a usual galvanized layer is formed in at least >=2mu thickness. The resulting sheet is then heatd at 350-400 deg.C for 3-240min in case of a batch process or at 450-550 deg.C for 5-60sec in case of a continuous process to form an at least >=1.5mu thick Fe-Zn alloy layer in the galvanized lower layer on the sheet and a >=0.5mu thick galvanized layer on the alloy layer. Thus, a uniform- quality alloyed galvanized steel sheet for a coating substrate having superior corrosion resistance after electrodeposition coating can be manufactured.
