Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a construction compact, by connecting an idle shaft which supports an idle reverse gear, to a shifting shaft interlocked with a gear-shaft.
CONSTITUTION: An idle shaft 5, which supports an idle reverse gear 22 slidably, is connected by an arm 45 to the third shifting shaft 32 interlocked with a gearshift (not shown). When the third shifting shaft 32 is moved leftward by the shiftgear, the idle shaft 5 and a clutch sleeve 28 are moved together with the shaft 32 so that the sleeve 28 is disengaged from a pawl gear 25 and a synchronizing link 26. As a result, a counter shaft 4 and the first five-speed shifting gear 23 get uninterlocked from each other, the idle reverse gear 22 is moved leftward on the idle shaft 5 and an output shaft 3 is reversed by the rotation of an input shaft 2 in connection with the counter shaft 4. According to this constitution, the structure of the built-in section of the shifting shaft 32 can be made compact.
