Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the adhesive property of an electron-discharging substance which is applied to an electrode component, and enhance the electron-discharging ability of the substance by using the electron-discharging substance, which contains at least two kinds of the oxides of rare earth metals and operates at an electrode temperature of within a given range. CONSTITUTION:An electrode component is constituted of an electrode core 15 made of a tungsten bar, inner and outer coils 16 and 17 that are made of tungsten wires. An electron-discharging substance 18 is applied to both the inner coil 16 and the outer coil 17, before the coils 16 and 17 are dried and heated, thereby the electron- discharging substance 18 being fixed to the surface of the electrode component. The substance 18, which operates at an electrode temperature of 1,100-1,800 deg.C, contains at least two kinds of oxides chosen out of the oxides of rare earth metals.
