Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the seams of semiconductor chips inconspicuous, by providing the open space of the semiconductor chips, on which fluorescent-body picture elements are arranged in a zigzag pattern, with both laterally connected pads and longitudinally connected pads, which are connected to each other by means of bonding wires.
CONSTITUTION: Fluorescent-body picture elements 10 are placed on semiconductor chips 14 in a zigzag pattern. Two lines of a pair of laterally connected pads 11 and two rows of a pair of longitudinally connected pads 12 are placed on the open space between the picture elements. After that, the semiconductor chips 14 are arranged into a matrix form, before a couple of laterally connected pads 11 as well as a couple of longitudinally connected pads 12 are connected to each other with bonding wires 13. Consequently, any influence of the bonding wires to the emission of the picture elements can be eliminated, the arrangement of the semiconductor chips can be facilitated, the seams of the chips can be made inconspicuous, and a large picture with a high density can be provided.
