Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the centering and positioning device for workpiece wherein equal amount feeding is performed from the both sides of the work for centering by the utilization of a rack pinion mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: The moving body 2 driven by an air cylinder 3 is vertically movably provided on the center line of a main body. On both the right and left sides of the moving body 2 are symmetrically fixed a fair of racks 4A and 4B with which pinions 8A and 8B are engagedly provided. Further, rods 5A and 5B equipped with racks 7A and 7B, which are engaged with the pinions 8A and 8B, are movably provided. According to the construction described above, the workpiece is centered with the equal amount of movement of the contactors 6A and 6B by means of the movement of the moving body 2.
