Abstract

PURPOSE: To intensity the strength at the tip joint of a cutting tool and prevent the tip from coming off by enabling the inclined surface provided on the side surface of the tool main body recess to receive the load applied to the tip.
CONSTITUTION: The tip 5 is composed of a composite hard sintered body formed by bonding a support 5b to a hard sintered body 5a. A recess 2 is provided at the end of a shank 1, and the side surface 3 of the recess 2 is inwardly out to form an inclined surface, the angle θ being set: 90°>θ≥45°. The angle θ' of the tip 5 is set: θ=θ'. The tip 5 is fitted into the recess 2 in the shank 1, and both are bonded into one united body by using a brazing material or organic bonding agent.
