Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain toner which neither varies in flowability according to humidity nor causes fluctuations of picture quality, by incorporating resin powder within a specific range of grain size, and a fluidizing agent obtained by making hydrophobic the inorganic powder of oxide, sulfide, nitride, carbon black, etc., except silica. CONSTITUTION:Resin powder (including that containing magnetic substance powder) of 5-50mum grain size is used, and the inorganic powder of oxide, sulfide, nitride, carbon black, etc., such as Al2O3 and MgO, and MoS2 and Si3N4 are made hydrophobic in a heat treatment at 150-400 deg.C by using an agent, such as dialkyl silane dihalide, to obtain a fluidizing agent of <=1mum in grain size, so that toner which contains the mixture of the said resin powder and the obtained fluidizing agent to <=20%. Thus, moisture adsorption is made hard, and deterioration in picture quality due to the lowering of flowability according to time and fluctuations of humidity in the atmosphere is prevented. This is specially suitable to one-component type toner which does not contain a carrier.
